I found an injured animal \u2013 what should I do?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Unfortunately, we are not veterinarians, so an injured animal needs to be taken to a veterinarian as soon as possible.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span>If working hours are over, and you are able to, provide the animal with temporary shelter.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>If you are unable to remove the animal from the road, contact us for assistance.<\/span>
\n<\/span>If you cannot stay with the animal, mark the location (e.g. GPS or detailed description of the place),<\/span>
\n<\/span>Take a photo or video of the animal and its surroundings and send us a report.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Please note that we also have working hours. <\/span>

I found a dog on the road \u2013 what should I do?<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Not every dog wandering the street is necessarily lost!<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Assess its condition, see if it has a collar and if it is well-groomed.<\/span>
<\/span>Many \u201cwanderers\u201d are actually so-called self-walkers, especially in smaller towns.<\/span>
<\/span>If the dog has a collar and looks good, send us a few photos and the location so we can try to find the owner by posting it on our pages.<\/span>
<\/span>If your dog doesn\u2019t look well and seems lost, take it to the vet for a microchip scan (if the dog is not microchipped, the vet will contact us) or call us and we will advise you on the best course of action in this situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

I can no longer care for my dog \u2013 can you take him in?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Taking over the owner\u2019s dog is only possible under the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Available space:<\/b>
    <\/span>We need to have a free cage at the fort. If there are no spaces available at the moment, we will put you on the waiting list.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Health conditions:<\/b>
    <\/span>The dog must be vaccinated against infectious diseases:<\/span>
    <\/span>\u2013 2 times if it is a puppy,<\/span>
    <\/span>\u2013 1 time if older than 7 months.<\/span>
    <\/span>If the dog is sexually mature, it must be neutered.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Cost coverage:<\/b>
    <\/span>If the dog has not been vetted, we will ask you for a donation to cover the costs<\/span>
    <\/span>veterinary treatments (vaccinations, castration, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/p>\n

    4. Dog behavior:<\/strong>
    The dog must not be aggressive or hostile towards people.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Unfortunately, no.<\/span>
    <\/span>We ourselves pay the full cost of castrations and all other veterinary services.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Two things we always need, but never have enough of, are:<\/span>
    <\/span>\u2013 cans for puppies and adult dogs (especially better-quality wet food)<\/span>
    <\/span>\u2013 bleach for disinfecting floors (e.g. Varikina)<\/span>

    We understand your need, but unfortunately, we do not provide pet sitting services.<\/span>
    <\/span>Our fortress has limited capacity, which is often not even enough for abandoned animals.<\/span>
    <\/span>If you need help, feel free to contact us \u2013 we will be happy to refer you to reliable<\/span>
