\nI found an injured animal \u2013 what should I do?<\/summary>\n
\n

Unfortunately, we are not veterinarians, so an injured animal needs to be taken to a veterinarian as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

If working hours are over, and you are able to, provide the animal with temporary shelter.<\/p>\n

If you are unable to remove the animal from the road, contact us for assistance.<\/p>\n

If you cannot stay with the animal, mark the location (e.g. GPS or detailed description of the place). Take a photo or video of the animal and its surroundings and send us a report.<\/p>\n

Please note that we also have working hours. We don\u2019t respond during the night. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n

\nI found a dog on the road \u2013 what should I do?<\/summary>\n
\n

Not every dog wandering the street is necessarily lost!<\/p>\n

Assess its condition, see if it has a collar and if it is well-groomed.<\/p>\n

Many \u201cwanderers\u201d are actually so-called self-walkers, especially in smaller towns. <\/p>\n

If the dog has a collar and looks good, send us a few photos and the location so we can try to find the owner by posting it on our pages.<\/p>\n

If your dog doesn\u2019t look well and seems lost, take it to the vet for a microchip scan (if the dog is not microchipped, the vet will contact us) or call us and we will advise you on the best course of action in this situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n

\nI can no longer care for my dog \u2013 can you take him in?<\/summary>\n
\n

Taking over the owner\u2019s dog is only possible under the following conditions:<\/p>\n

1. Available space:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We need to have a free cage at the fort. If there are no spaces available at the moment, we will put you on the waiting list. <\/p>\n

2. Health conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dog must be vaccinated against infectious diseases:<\/p>\n

\u2013 2 times if it is a puppy,<\/p>\n

\u2013 1 time if older than 7 months.<\/p>\n

If the dog is sexually mature, it must be neutered.<\/p>\n

3. Cost coverage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the dog has not been vetted, we will ask you for a donation to cover the costs
veterinary treatments (vaccinations, castration, etc.).<\/p>\n

4. Dog behavior:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dog must not be aggressive or hostile towards people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n

\nCan we get free sterilization for our dog or cat through you?<\/summary>\n

Unfortunately, no. We ourselves pay the full cost of castrations and all other veterinary services. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n

\nWe want to come visit \u2013 what do you need most?<\/summary>\n
\n

Two things we always need, but never have enough of, are:<\/p>\n

\u2013 cans for puppies and adult dogs (especially better-quality wet food)<\/p>\n

\u2013 bleach for disinfecting floors (e.g. Varikina)<\/p>\n

\nCan I leave my dog with you while I\u2019m away?<\/summary>\n
\n

We understand your need, but unfortunately, we do not provide pet sitting services.
\nOur fortress has limited capacity, which is often not even enough for abandoned animals.
\nIf you need help, feel free to contact us \u2013 we will be happy to refer you to reliable
